Barcelona are eager to hike-up Lionel Messi's buyout clause.

In the wake of Manchester City's £108 million bid for AC Milan ace Kaka, Barca are stepping up efforts to secure Messi to a new agreement.

Negotiations will focus on improving Messi's buyout clause from £140 million to £180 million, but will also include talks over hiking up the Argentine's £7 million salary.
