Barcelona are maintaining their watching brief for Tottenham star Gareth Bale. Sport says Barca had scouts in the stands for Spurs' victory over Aston Villa on Monday night - barely a fortnight after having him watched at Fulham.

Barca chiefs are bringing together as much information on Bale as they can before deciding whether to pursue the midfielder.

While he plays as a winger at Spurs, Barca management feel they can convert him into an attacking fullback.
