Barcelona star Xavi Hernandez is set to join New York Red Bulls after this summer's World Cup according to Sky Sport Italia.
Sources told the NY Post this week that the Spain international would more than likely not be heading to MLS anytime soon but it is now believed that he could land in Harrison, New Jersey at the completion of this year's FIFA tournament in Brazil.
According to BeIn Sports, CNN and Gazzetta dello Sport correspondent Tancredi Palmeri's Twitter post, Sky Sport Italia suggests Xavi will be heading to New York in July or August this year.

Red Bull head coach Mike Petke was quizzed on the situation at the MLS SuperDraft on Thursday but was non-committal on the possibility of Xavi landing at Red Bull Arena.
"You never know with Red Bull," Petke said. "If we feel it's the right fit in the field and Red Bull feel it's the right fit in the marketing sense, then anything can happen.
"As of now, I don't think we're going to be announcing in the next week that we're going to be signing Xavi or anybody. But it's a player that's coming up on a contract soon. You never know."
