Barcelona striker David Villa is full of confidence that his fellow countryman Fernando Torres has made the right choice by picking Chelsea. The Spain international says his La Furia Roja teammate will certainly succeed at his new club after joining the Blues from Liverpool for a British record fee of £50million last week.
Villa, who left Valencia to join the Catalan giants last summer for big money, says that Torres will show his full potential at Stamford Bridge.
"Liverpool are not enjoying a good year. I am totally convinced that his move to Chelsea will go well and he will succeed in London," Villa said.
"It's been very difficult for him, but I'm pleased because I know he wanted to go there. He is very happy and I wish him well."
And the 29-year old, scorer of 14 La Liga goals in 21 Barcelona appearances this term, also feels that Liverpool's new signings - Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll - will prove to be beneficial purchases by their new club.
"Each year there are big transfers of this type. It's normal. All teams need to strengthen when they want to win things," he added.
"Liverpool needed to reinforce after the sale of Fernando. They [Carroll and Suarez] are two great players who are worth every penny. I'm sure they'll be a hit with the fans."
