Barcelona refuse to go higher than £30M for Arsenal captain Cesc

Barcelona refuse to go higher than £30 million for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

The Daily Star says the Spanish midfielder has told boss Arsene Wenger he wants a move to the Nou Camp.

But, with Fabregas having been at the Spanish champions as a kid, the club are reluctant to break the bank to bring home a player they believe should still be theirs.

Sources close to the Catalan club claimed last night that Fabregas held face-to-face talks with Barca manager Pep Guardiola last week, with the Spanish midfielder's idol spelling out his vision for the club.

Many at the Nou Camp feel Wenger and Arsenal stole Fabregas from their academy when he was only 16 because he had not signed professional forms.

It still rankles, and is the reason Barca do not want to spend loads of money to get him and are instead relying on Fabregas forcing his way out of the Emirates.

Barca President Joan Laporta said: "Barca are not prepared to just pay any price for this operation because this is a tricky subject. Cesc is a player who was once at our home."
