Barcelona are maintaining serious interest in Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera.

The Catalan giants are said to consider the 28-year-old as the long-term replacement for 33-year-old Andreas Iniesta, who recently signed a new 'lifetime contract'.

With Spain's World Cup squad next year in mind, the former Athletic Bilbao may be tempted to find first-team football elsewhere in January. He comes off contract in June.
