Barcelona president Rosell wanted Scolari ahead of Martino

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell wanted Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari to succeed Tito Vilanova ahead of Tata Martino, it has been revealed.

Outspoken super agent Francois Gallardo made the revelation on Punto Pelota.

Gallardo says Rosell had wanted Scolari at Barca even when he was vice-president behind Joan Laporta.

"Tata only appeared on the scene due to (Lionel) Messi ," revealed Gallardo.

"The coach who was left in the gutter was Scolari."
