Barcelona president Sandro Rosell is confident keeping Pep Guardiola away from Manchester United. Sir Alex Ferguson, asked about Guardiola succeeding him at United, said he couldn't see why the Spaniard would quit Barca at such a time in their history.

Rosell appreciated Ferguson's words and remarked: "Ferguson is a wise person and I hope Pep doesn't Ignore him and stays at Barca for a long time."

On fellow Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi, Rosell added: "Our goal is to do everything possible to keep Messi at Barca."
