Cadena Ser says Rosell and sports director Andoni Zubizarreta have not forgotten about Bale as they maintain talks with Villarreal for striker Giuseppe Rossi.
Talk of Chelsea moving for Bale has reached the Nou Camp, where Rosell is determined to be part of any auction for the Wales international.
Spurs chiefs are adamant they will not sell Bale this summer.
