Barcelona president Laporta will test Arsenal resolve for Cesc in January

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is convinced he can sign Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.
El Mundo Deportivo says an agreement to sign Fabregas in August was all but done, only for Arsene Wenger to veto the deal and it is hard to see the French manager taking a different stance now.
The Spain midfielder has also insisted his commitment to the Gunners should not be questioned, though it is widely expected he will one day return to the club where he came through the ranks before moving to north London as a 16-year-old.
Laporta is now pushing for a mid-season transfer in case he is out-manoeuvred by political rivals. He wants to sign Fabregas so that the 22-year-old does not become an election issue.

thunder!!!!!!!!!!!! fire you laporta, look else where laporta or i will send you through a portal that guarantees you will ask or talk about FAB4 again
Why are Spanish teams allowed to do this? Every year we have to put up with Real or Barca practically tapping up our best players. I thought this was illegal. Sometimes it is genuine and the club is really interested and other times it is just to unsettle our squad because they look a threat. Please do something about it FIFA or are you only interested in enforcing the rules against English clubs?
Cesc will likely join next summer Barca anyway so why not speed up things a little bit? He is just wasting his time in London. Arsenal(trophyless since May 2005) wont win any trophies with or without Cesc, they just lack everything what is required in EPL: brutal tackling, physique, consistency, a tall CF who scores 20 goals a season, proper DMs, aerial power, direct attacking game plan etc. Wenger has demolished his "winning team" voluntarily several times by selling his top players like Henry, Vieira, Adebayor, Anelka etc why wouldnt he do that again?
