Barca's medical staff released a statement on Monday stating Ronie was not injured, which sparked reports of a fallout between the Brazilian and coach Frank Rijkaard.
But yesterday, Laporta explained: "He isn't being considered for tonight because the coach felt he had not had enough time to prepare for the game in training. Do not read more into this than there is."
The Barca supremo went on: "(The medical statement) was correct and impeccable. Ronaldinho said he had some discomfort and that the MRI did not show that he had an injury in the muscle or tendon.
"Only twisted minds would try to make a misinterpretation of that statement, but each is free to do what he wants."
