Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed they're close to a deal for Valencia striker David Villa. The Spain international could be confirmed as a Barca signing in the coming days, with Laporta admitting they want a deal closed before the World Cup kicks off.
"We've started negotiations with Valencia, missing only a few details and we will soon make the announcement of his acquisition," said Laporta. "We are working to find a solution so that the transfer takes place before the start of play for the World Cup."
Indeed, Villa has already declared he doesn't want any distractions as he chases World Cup glory with Spain in South Africa.
