Barcelona president Laporta launches January push for Arsenal's Cesc

Barcelona president Joan Laporta is pushing for a January agreement with Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas.

El Mundo Deportivo says Laporta wants to attempt to sign Cesc when the market reopens as he tries to secure the Spain international's future before next year's club elections.

But for all of Laporta's intentions, Arsenal are ready to stand firm.

Indeed, Cesc again blanked questions from Spanish reporters when on international duty last week about a return home.

I'd quite like Cesc to come and clean my car every Sunday (when he's not playing, of course) but I fear there's as much chance of that happening as Barca buying him in January.
Move on - no news here, I'm afraid...
