Barcelona president Joan Laporta is delighted with the work of new coach Pep Guardiola.

Reflecting on Sunday's victory over Sporting Gijon, Laporta took delight in highlighting the number of locally-produced players in the team.

"Pep is having his team play football in way that fans can appreciate and enjoy," said Laporta. "Moreover, he's doing it with many home-based players.

"This is important because it shows the work being done behind-the-scenes is successful."
