Barcelona president Joan Laporta won't rule out holding onto striker Samuel Eto'o.

"The player may have his idea but the decision is purely sport. The Samuel situation is not irreversible," said Laporta. "It requires a thorough study should he recover physically and in morale and form.

"There are players we have who've said openly that they want another team, but this is not the case of Eto'o, who at this moment is doing preseason with Barcelona and will enable us to evaluate him thoroughly."
