Barcelona president Joan Laporta has held transfer talks with Olympique Lyon over striker Karim Benzema.

The French ace has declared an ambition to play in Spain - and a preference for Real Madrid.

However, Laporta took advantage of last week's Champions League meeting in France to open talks with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas about a summer deal for Benzema.

L'Equipe says the pair discussed Benzema at the restaurant of Paul Bocuse before the European clash.
