Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has joined the campaign for Sandro Rosell to be released from prison.
Marca reports relatives, friends and ex-partners of the Board of Rosell, including Bartomeu, launched a campaign on Tuesday through social networks to request the release of the former president of Barcelona.
He has spent more than nine months in prison for a crime of money laundering derived from the collection of commissions for the sale of television rights of the Brazilian national team.
The charges are part of Operation Rimet, which also involves former president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, Ricardo Teixeira, and businessman Joan Besoli, among others.
Bartomeu became Barcelona president after the resignation of Rosell in 2014 because of the Neymar case.
