Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has spoken of their interest in Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann was expected to join Barca this summer in a €100m deal, however the latest from Madrid is that he has told teammates his intention to remain at the Metropolitano next season.

Bartomeu told Catalunya Radio: "I cannot talk about this subject as you can understand it. We have the greatest respect for players who play in other clubs. We must first close the exercise and the accounts for this season, which end at the end of June, and on July 1 we will see for the next one.

"Barça works and I cannot say what we'll do. We have been working for a long time and we know what we have to do.

"Do I want to have Griezmann? All fans would like to have the best in the world in their club, but that's impossible. We must think that Barça already has very good players as we have shown this season."
