Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu admits establishing a club presence in the US is under consideration.

Barca this week opened an office in New York.

Bartomeu revealed plans to "create a football team competing in local leagues. We know also the importance of MLS and it's growth in the United States.

"It would be a major challenge for us and a way for our fans to follow us (in the US)."

He added: "We want to create a women's soccer team to participate in the League of the United States."
