Barcelona are preparing a major assault for Liverpool ace Fernando Torres. Sport says Barca will move for the Spain star should they fail to secure Samuel Eto'o to a new contract in the coming months.

It's been revealed Barca president Joan Laporta spoke informally with Torres during the FIFA World Player of the Year ceremony, along with Barca stars Xavi and Lionel Messi.

Laporta's chat with Torres was cordial and the pair agreed to keep in touch. No figures were discussed, but it's suggested also nothing was ruled out.
