Barcelona are ready to make a swap offer to Chelsea for midfielder Michael Essien.
Essien has also attracted enquiries from Spanish Liga rivals Real Madrid and El Mundo Deportivo says Barca hope to clinch a deal by offering Xavi in part-exchange.
