Barcelona plot £20m swoop for Liverpool full-back Clyne

Barcelona are believed to be showing significant interest in Liverpool's Nathaniel Clyne.

The Sun is reporting that the Catalan giants are planning a £20million move for the 25-year-old right-back.

Barca have been linked with Stoke City's Glen Johnson this week as they continue to search for a replacement for Dani Alves, who left the Nou Camp for Juventus in the summer.

It is understood that England international Clyne has emerged as Luis Enrique's number one priority and initial steps have been made ahead of a possible January offer.

Enrique has been using Sergi Roberto and Aleix Vidal on the right side of defence this season but in order for Barca to go after the Champions League and La Lia titles, the boss wants a higher quality full-back.

That player appears to be Clyne who has continued developing and improving since he started with Crystal Palace back in 2008, before moving to Southampton in 2012.

The 13-time international moved on to Anfield in the summer of 2015 and has already notched up 64 appearances in all competitions forth Merseyside outfit.
