Barcelona are planning to join the battle for Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Sport says Barca see the Spain international as a readymade replacement for want-away midfielder Yaya Toure.

Xabi is also a confirmed target for Valencia, while he expressed hopes that Juventus would revive their summer interest earlier this week.
