Barcelona plan Brazilian academy launch

Barcelona are planning to launch a partnership agreement with a Brazilian club.

Barca want to replicate the model they have in Argentina with Atletico Lujan, which allows them to attract the country's brightest prospects to an academy which is run by both clubs.

A Brazilian club would be identified ahead of a collaborative agreement being struck, which would see Barca fund coaching and the improvement of facilities in exchange for housing the talent identified by their scouts across Brazil.

The partner club will be based in Sao Paulo, where Barca directors Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano visited last year.
