Barcelona open Atletico Madrid talks for Asenjo

Barcelona are ready to pounce for unhappy Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barca have already opened talks with Atletico about an end-of-season deal for the 21 year-old.

Asenjo is stuck on the bench at Atletico, but Barca coach Pep Guardiola sees the youngster as capable of challenging Victor Valdes as his No1 next season.

Spain U21 keeper Asenjo only moved to Atletico in the summer from Real Valladolid.
