Barcelona must commit 250 MILLION if they're to tie Lionel Messi to a new contract. Messi's father, Jorge, and Barca directors have opened talks over a new contract upgrade in the past fortnight.
AS says Messi is demanding a net salary of €25 million - or €50 million gross - for five years. In other words, to keep hold of the Argentine, Barca must commit a staggering 250 MILLION.
For the moment, neither party is in a hurry to get a deal done, which is working in Barca's favour.
But with State-based clubs Manchester City and PSG monitoring negotiations, Barca are under pressure to satisfy Messi before the summer market opens.
