Barcelona midfielder Xavi has picked up a calf injury.
The 31-year-old underwent tests and an MRI on Tuesday morning, with the club announcing news of his likely absence on their website.
"Xavi Hernandez has a slight calf strain in his left leg and is expected to be out for around seven to 10 days," the club confirmed.
The Spain star will therefore be sidelined for Saturday's Primera Division trip to Real Mallorca and could also miss the game at Valencia three days later.
