Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto defended Gerard Pique after his dismissal in victory over Olympiakos.

Pique was sent off for a second bookable offence with a handball.

"Maybe he did not think in those moments that he already had a card. He told me that it was instinctive, that he wanted to score and the ball was behind him," reasoned Roberto.

He continued: "We started in a very strong attacking way and we were able to score, but we needed to close the game, they were behind, and in the end we did it, we controlled the match and that's the important thing."
