Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic has apologised for his outburst on Sunday during victory over Granada.

After last night's win against Sevilla, Rakitic addressed the fallout of his taunts for Granada midfielder Andreas Pereira.

The Croatian branded the on-loan Manchester United midfielder a "son of a bitch" and taunted that Granada "were going down".

Last night, Rakitic said: "It was done in the heat of the moment.

"These are things that happen on the pitch and I want to apologise. I did not mean to offend anyone and if I did, I'm sorry. In Granada I have many acquaintances and I do not wish evil on anyone."
