Barcelona midfielder Carles Alena was delighted to see action for their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Tottenham.

Alena scored his first goal for Barca last week and now has a Champions League start under his belt.

He said, "In the end, we have only been able to sign the draw, in the season there are many matches and when you leave the qualification closed, better, as we did.

"For me it was an important match, in the end we were only able to draw, but the important thing was to qualify first, which was the goal."

On Barca goalscorer Ousmane Dembele, Alena added: "He is a spectacular player and we have to give him love because he has a lot of future and he has shown it.

"You do not have to kill him, although it is true that he has had failures and will correct them, for sure. The important thing is that he is giving us a lot on the field, we have to help him, and thanks for the people and the support that the public gives him."
