Barcelona have moved to trump Real Madrid for Atletico Madrid fullback Theo Hernandez.

The defender is currently on-loan at Alaves and emerged as a controversial target for Real president Florentino Perez.

However, AS says Barca have made a firm move for Theo, virtually matching the contract offer Real have tabled.

Both LaLiga giants are willing to meet his €24 million buyout clause and are offering the player a five-year deal worth €35 million.

Manuel Garcia Quilón, Theo's agent, would prefer to send him to Barca after falling out with Real over the sacking of Rafa Benitez.
