Barcelona management are unimpressed by Daniel Alves' comments in recent days.

Alves says he was surprised Barca did not go public this summer to shoot down rumours of him leaving.

"There was a time when rumours emerged that I would not continue. It bothered me that the club did not come out to deny this, but at the same time I understand it.

"The club is always looking after their interests and not the player," he said.

El Mundo Deportivo says Barca chiefs Andoni Zubizarreta and Tito Vilanova were left non-plussed by Alves' comments. And club officials who held the media conference were caught off-guard, as Alves' outburst was unexpected.
