Barcelona have made fresh contact with Deportivo La Coruna for fullback Luis Filipe.

Sport says Barca coach Pep Guardiola wants a new left-back signing for the coming season and would welcome former Real Madrid Castilla star Filipe to the Nou Camp.

Guardiola has discussed moving for the Brazilian this week with new sports director Andoni Zubizaretta.

The arrival of Filipe won't block the progress of Andreu Fontas, who has been assured by Guardiola that he will be part of his plans next season. The Barca Atleti star could already be a West Ham United player, but turned them down after talks with Guardiola last month.
