Barcelona have made a bumper offer to Chelsea for defender David Luiz.
The Daily Mail says Barcelona have launched a £30million bid for David Luiz - but Chelsea will refuse to sell him at that price.
Barca, who for all of their quality remain short of options at the back, are regardless prepared to increase their offer for the talented defender who they view as the perfect long-term successor to captain Carles Puyol.
Sources say it is 50/50 over if Luiz will stay at Chelsea, where he has become a key player since his January 2011 arrival from Benfica, given the obvious temptations that come with joining perhaps Europe's strongest team.
