Barcelona made big profit on Ibrahimovic sale - Bartomeu

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu says they did good business selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to AC Milan.

Bartomeu insists they've saved €60 million on Ibra's departure, who can sign permanently for Milan for €24 million.

He said: "We’re very pleased with the way things worked out. We’ve saved €60 million and taken in €24m."

To try and put a positive financial spin on it is pretty weak. if they paid around 40m plus eto'o then sold him for 24m then they lost 15-16m - plus a striker in eto'o. that quite simply is a bad deal. there will be other things like appearances, goals etc so the number will be a bit different but it still is woefully inept from a financial perspective. like real madrid's signing. anywhere else in the world and both barca and real would be bankrupted several times

Yes, Milan got the best of a Barca desperate to get rid of a failed Zlatan experiment... but at least Barca recognized and got rid of a costly mistake.

On the other hand, Madrid fans should be the LAST ones to comment... Remember, just last year Milan stuck Madrid with a 70million price tag for an injured Kaka that no longer fits into Mou's plans. Instead of getting rid of Kaka (which they couldn't) Madrid remains set to pay him 24.7million a year (for the next 5 years) to rest his groin and sit on the bench. Even if Madrid manages to sell him the next transfer window, I can't imagine they'll get over 20million for a clearly injured players... heck, even ManCity wasn't biting!

zaltan has proved his class time and time again pep is a nothing fool...
