Athletic Bilbao hero Ibai Gomez has been a long-term target for Barcelona.
Ibai struck a superb goal in Athletic's 1-1 draw with Real Madrid on Sunday.
Sport says Barca first made an attempt to sign Ibai in 2010, but Athletic refused to do business.
The striker is now tied to Bilbao until 2017.
