Barcelona midfielder Xavi has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.

Xavi has been ruled out for 15 days with a hamstring problem which leaves him struggling to be fit for the Champions League clash with AC Milan later this month.

The Spain international sustained a tear in his left hamstring late in Barca's 1-1 draw at Valencia on Sunday night and has already been ruled out of his country's friendly with Uruguay on Wednesday.

A club statement read: "If his recovery goes as planned, he'll be back for the Champions League game against Milan set for 20th of this month."
