Barcelona lose Pedro for three weeks

Barcelona winger Pedro is out for 2-3 weeks with an ankle injury.

Barca had revealed early tests allayed fears of long-term damage - predicting he would be out for 10-15 days - but more in-depth examinations show it could be as long as three weeks until he can play again.

A statement said: "Tests this morning have confirmed that the forward has a sprain of his left ankle. The time off required is approximately two to three weeks."

Pedro therefore misses Primera Division games against Mallorca and Athletic Bilbao, the Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen and the Copa del Rey tie with Hospitalet.
