Barcelona goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen has been hit with a heavy injury.

Cillessen has been ruled out for six weeks through injury.

The Dutch goalkeeper suffered the ailment in the Friday afternoon training session held at the Ciudad Deportiva, with scans showing the former Ajax star to have suffered a muscle tear in his right calf.

It's expected Inaki Pena will provide cover for Cillessen in his absence.

Such a development now puts pressure on Marc-Andre ter Stegen to stay fit.
