Barcelona are planning a move for Valencia's frozen-out midfielder David Albelda.

Albelda is still waiting on a ruling over his contract dispute with Los Che and has been barred from joining another Spanish Liga club this season - even if he gains his release.

Barca remain interested, however, and are prepared to wait until the summer to sign Albelda, who is likely to go to the European Championships, despite his treatment by Valencia management.
