Barcelona join Man Utd interest for Valencia fullback Jordi Alba

Barcelona are keeping tabs on Jordi Alba's progress at Valencia.

The young left-back attracted enquires from Barca over the summer, but it went no further with the Liga champs overloaded for left-backs.

However, with Eric Abidal stalling over new contract talks, Maxwell losing the confidence of coach Pep Guardiola and Adriano failing to impress, Barca's interest in Alba is being revived.

The Spain fullback is inside the final two years of his current deal and also has Manchester United tracking his form this season.

"I do not know if it's true or not. I focus on playing, to do well in Valencia and leave my representatives to handle things off the pitch. I know nothing of these rumours," said Alba yesterday.
