Bernd Schuster has been a dead-man walking at Real Madrid for almost a month, it has been revealed.

A push to sack the German first gathered momentum after Real's November 15 defeat to Real Valladolid, says Sport.

Their next setback against Getafe saw Real's senior leaders approach management about the need to change coaches - and were positive when Juande Ramos was offered.

Schuster had not enjoyed the support of the Real dressing room this season and did become increasingly isolated from his players.

Meanwhile, it's been suggested Barcelona directors have invited Schuster to the Nou Camp for the El Clasico this weekend.
