Barcelona interest in Sterling could potentially impact Liverpool deal for Lemar

Barcelona's interest in Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling could have massive implications for Liverpool's transfer plans this summer.

The Catalan giants are interested in signing Sterling, who has come on in leaps and bounds under Pep Guardiola this season.

The knock-on effect of this deal would be City's inevitable signing of a replacement.

And according to El Gol Digital, their number one candidate would be Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

The Frenchman, 22, has been Jurgen Klopp's top target since Philippe Coutinho joined Barca in January.

The £142million profit from Coutinho's transfer is being reserved for Lemar this summer. But if City are also interested, the Reds will have no chance in toppling the Abu Dhabi-backed club in a bidding war.
