The father of Barcelona star Lionel Messi is returning to the city for more talks over a new contract.

Jorge Messi is scheduled to return to Barcelona in the coming weeks.

A source told AS: "We start to see some light.

"It's been slow, but at least it advances."

The Barca insider continued: "In December the thing was not clear, we will have to continue working with discretion, only thus will we reach the final success."

The new deal is expected to be worth €30-40 million-a-year to Messi.
