Barcelona may have a final say on any move for Benfica fullback Alejandro Grimaldo.
Manchester United scouts watched the former Barca B defender on the weekend against Feirense, while Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has made a personal check.
Valencia have also joined the interest as Grimaldo establishes himself as a first-choice for Benfica this season.
However, any future deal will depend on Barca, which have a share in the player's sell on fee.
Grimaldo was sold by Barca to Benfica for a knockdown €1.5 million and it's been confirmed they'll be due a hefty percentage of any future sale.
