Hristo Stoichkov has spoken out about his time as a player under the management of Louis van Gaal.
The Bulgarian great was at Barcelona in 1998 during his second spell with the Catalan giants before departing for CSKA Sofia.
A scathing Stoichkov suggests it was because of current Manchester United boss van Gaal that he moved on from the Camp Nou.
"I have no respect for him, he's garbage," Stoichkov told Sunday Sport.
"One day, when I was injured and I was with my wife at the Nou Camp. He went up to her and asked 'how was possible that she married someone like me?'
"It was the fault of van Gaal that I moved on to CSKA Sofia."
