Barcelona go cold on Arsenal star Bellerin

Barcelona appear to have cooled their interest in Arsenal's Hector Bellerin.

According to Barcelona-based daily Sport, the Catalan giants have now enquired about Valencia's Joao Cancelo which indicates their pursuit of Bellerin has placed on the shelf.

The 21-year-old right-back joined the Gunners from Barcelona's academy in 2011 and is now one of Arsene Wenger's most important players having forced his way into the first-team at the Emirates Stadium and making the Premier League Team of the Year.

With Brazilian ace Dani Alves set to join Juventus, Luis Enrique is on the hunt for an apt replacement and it was believed that Bellerin was their first choice.

But Arsenal have stood strong thus far which has promoted Barca to look elsewhere, namely in the form of 22-year-old Portuguese defender Cancelo.

It is understood that Cancelo would coat around £25million but Valencia's interest in second tier Barca players Marc Bartra, Cristian Tello and Alen Halilovic could see an alternate deal arranged.
