Barcelona spokesman Toni Freixa has hit out over the money laundering allegations made against Lionel Messi.
The claims have since been dismissed by local authorities, but the matter has still left Barca furious.
Freixa declared: "Under the guise of football, you cannot go to these lengths. We will show our support to the family and the father of the player.
"Some information will undermine the reputation of the club and our athletes.
"I do not know if this is a campaign, but I think it is something against which we must act decisively."
