Barcelona furious with Spain snub for Valdes

Barcelona are furious with Spain coach Luis Aragones' snub of goalkeeper Victor Valdes.

After Real Madrid's Iker Casillas was ruled out Aragones' squad this week, the Spain boss called up Sevilla's Andre Palop as a replacement - causing outrage in Barcelona.

Albert Jorquera, Valdes' understudy at Barca, summed up feelings: "Victor has more than enough quality for the national team. It is always a surprise that the No1 keeper of Barca, who has won the Zamora trophy recently, is not selected.

"But it is also true that the other keepers are not failures and their form is very good."
