Cameras picked up an exchange between the pair as they reacted to a foul by Real fullback Dani Carvajal on Neymar.

Alba was picked snapping at Kovacic: "You're so stupid! Learn to speak Spanish, silly."

Kovacic replied: "Learn to speak first, jerk. Go, shut up, fool."

The exchange occurred in front of match officials, but both players avoided action.
